Luxury Holiday Malaysia

Luxury Travel Malaysia

Luxury Travel Malaysia | What a pity that this enchanting, magical atmosphere cannot simply be captured and presented to you right here.

We would describe it like this: you wake up in the morning, open the door of your room in the luxury resort, and the only thing you hear is the gentle splash of droplets in your freestanding outdoor bathtub, which together with the soft rustling of the wind through the leaves of the surrounding jungle forms a small orchestra of the senses.

Add to that the glitter of the small water features reflecting the morning sun. That is approximately what it feels like to holiday in Malaysia.

Luxury Travel Malaysia

The highly multicultural destination of Malaysia offers, in addition to its many wonderful beaches, a cultural diversity unmatched by any other country in this part of the world.

Whether Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam — all faiths coexist here in harmony, creating a vibrant experience in the capital Kuala Lumpur, for example.

Malaysia is a nation in Southeast Asia that extends across parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo. The country is renowned for its beaches, its rainforests, and its diverse Malay, Chinese, Indian, and European cultural influences.

Imagine sitting by the Elbe in Hamburg, with a lovely glass of Chardonnay, and 5.3 million other people around you. That is how many people live in Singapore, which is actually the same size as the city-state of Hamburg, and consequently, as you can imagine, forms a cosmopolitan melting pot of cultures.

Luxury Holiday Malaysia

The capital Kuala Lumpur is home to colonial-era buildings, bustling shopping districts such as Bukit Bintang, and skyscrapers including the famous 451-metre-tall twin towers of the Petronas Towers. Pristine dream beaches, colonial Georgetown, the tea plantations of the Cameron Highlands, the ancient giant trees of Taman Negara National Park, and the contrasting megametropolis of Kuala Lumpur — the Malay Peninsula is a microcosm in itself. On Borneo, in Sabah and Sarawak, pure nature awaits, and as you can imagine, Malaysia is home to some of the most exquisite dream hotels.

Discover Malaysia on a Luxury Trip

The geographical setting is remarkable: Malaysia consists of two parts separated by the South China Sea. West Malaysia lies on the Malay Peninsula at the southernmost point of the Asian continent, while East Malaysia is located in the north of the island of Borneo. On important trade routes between China and India, Asian seafarers and merchants landed on these shores early on. Colonial powers — the Portuguese, Dutch, and British — as well as immigrants from China and India, in turn, brought their cultures and traditions. The result is a multicultural country with an incredible diversity of landscapes. This diversity is best discovered on a journey through Malaysia, especially when you set out well fortified after a lavish breakfast at your luxury hotel.

Hindu Temples

The Batu Caves offer a unique view of Kuala Lumpur. The limestone caves are located about 15 kilometres north of the capital and house several Hindu temples. 272 steps lead up to the entrance. Standing guard before the cave is a gold-coloured, 42.7-metre-tall statue of Lord Murugan.

At the largest Hindu festival outside India — the Thaipusam festival at the full moon in January or February — over one million Indian pilgrims gather at the Batu Caves to commemorate Lord Murugan’s victory over the demon Soorapadman. This is truly a breathtaking spectacle. You will still be dreaming about it at night in your feather-soft bed at the luxury hotel.

Change of Scene:

We travel north of Kuala Lumpur, high up into the mountains. We gaze in fascination at the endless tea plantations and now understand why tea cultivation has such a long tradition here.

On a tour through the country’s oldest tea factory, you can learn a great deal about the cultivation, picking, and fermentation of tea. The fact that fresh, cool air is not only good for plants but also for people was something the British colonial rulers already knew. For rest and relaxation, they retreated to the plateau more than 1,000 metres high, strolled through flower gardens or along waterfalls, and enjoyed a sense of home on the well-kept golf courses. A good cup of tea did the rest.

Dense jungle and high mountains enthral you throughout this varied journey through Malaysia. The states of Sarawak and Sabah on the island of Borneo make up more than 60 percent of Malaysia’s territory — and it is best to book a luxury hotel there between spring and autumn. Here, gentle or adventurous excursions await in the heart of the jungle and on the beaches of the offshore islands.

In the Batang Ai National Park in Sarawak, one of the largest contiguous areas where great apes live can be found. They are the stars of your luxury journey through Malaysia: orang-utans! Red-haired, shaggy fur — the resemblance to humans is not immediately obvious, and yet the DNA of these apes matches ours by 96.5 percent. It is therefore not surprising that “orang” means human and “hutan” means forest in Indonesian. They feel at home in the high canopies of primeval forest giants.

And to ensure that you feel at home too, we make sure you find your perfect luxury accommodation — or accommodations — in Malaysia, from which you can explore the country at its best. We look forward to welcoming you!
