Dreamlike beaches, secluded small islands, and hotels directly on the sea make Indonesia, with its capital Jakarta, a wonderful luxury travel destination. The more than 17,000 islands are spread around the equator, between the South China Sea, the Pacific, and the Indian Ocean.
Indonesia is one of the few travel destinations in the world that is still truly waiting to be discovered — for deep in the jungle, far from tourist crowds, hotels, and the most famous island, Bali, lie untouched islands where mysterious tribes and countless exotic animal species live.
The rich underwater world also attracts, alongside the usual beach holidaymakers, countless adventure-seeking divers year after year, eager to encounter the colourful coral reefs, vast schools of fish, and exotic marine creatures, and to recount their thrilling underwater adventures in the hotel each evening.
This is how we would describe Malaysia: You wake up in the morning, open the door of your room in the luxury resort and the only thing you hear is the gentle splashing of drops in your freestanding outdoor bathtub, which, together with the mild rustling of the wind through the leaves of the surrounding jungle, reveals itself to be a little orchestra of the senses.
LUXURY TRAVEL MALAYSIA
Pure Adventure
Bali may be the primary destination in Indonesia, with its many dreamlike luxury hotels, but it is truly worth making the effort to travel to Cirebon or the south coast, for instance — there you can experience the authentic, cultural Indonesia. The volcanoes of Indonesia are particularly fascinating.
They invite adventurous trekking tours — for example, to the volcanoes Semeru and Bromo on Java — after which you can simply look forward to the wonderful wellness area in your luxury hotel in Indonesia, ready to soothe your hard-working feet.
Local guides will lead you to the high-altitude craters and provide unforgettable wow-moments — that we can guarantee.
If you prefer trekking through deep, impenetrable jungle, then Kalimantan or West Papua is exactly the right destination. Culture enthusiasts, on the other hand, will find what they are looking for in Java or Bali, where even the hotels reflect tradition. Those who wish to see unspoilt life and beautiful landscapes far from mass tourism should head to Sulawesi. Snorkelling and diving can also be enjoyed superbly on the Maluku Islands.
The Country’s Wildlife
Those who want to feel the country up close should begin in the north of the vast island of Sumatra. There, the 9,000-square-kilometre Gunung Leuser National Park stretches out — one of the last great tropical rainforests in the world. It is a truly fascinating experience to encounter orang-utans in the jungles of Sumatra and watch them casually swing along 50-metre-tall primeval trees. Sumatra, alongside Borneo, is the only place on earth where these endangered great apes still live.
Rinca is one of two or three islands in the region (and in the world) where the famous Komodo dragons live. These prehistoric lizards, growing up to three metres long, possess extremely venomous saliva and can even bring down buffalo. Humans are not part of their prey, but a respectful distance should nevertheless be maintained.
At the northern tip of Sulawesi, around the island of Pulau Bunaken, holidaymakers can explore some of the finest dive sites and coral reefs in Indonesia. They are among the most species-rich in the world. Even when snorkelling at shallow depths, children can see that Nemo the clownfish truly does exist.
In the light of the evening sun, one of the stone Buddhas of Borobudur — the largest Buddhist temple complex in Southeast Asia — sits in meditation. The sight is of such beauty and majestic grace that you will notice yourself pausing for a moment, simply letting the atmosphere wash over you.
Experience a wealth of these beautiful moments of luxury, whether on Bali or another island of your choice — moments you will never forget. Contact us for a personal, tailor-made travel consultation!
