Luxury Travel Costa Rica | Costa Rica is a wonderful gateway country for Latin America.
It is very safe, so solo travellers on a round trip need not worry any more than they would walking through their hometown in Germany on an evening. The standard of living is high compared to other countries in Central America and many people speak good English.
Costa Rica is famous for its immaculate volcano “Arenal”, the light-blue “Catarata Rio Celeste” waterfall in Tenorio National Park, and whale watching off the “Isla de Cano” on the South Pacific coast. You should also know that in Costa Rica, not every banana is the same.
The straighter the supposed banana, the less you should simply bite into it. A well-meaning tip that can protect your taste buds during your holiday.

For Central America, Costa Rica is a truly wonderful travel destination with incredibly beautiful landscapes. San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, is located in the centre of the country and is surrounded by volcanoes and high mountains.
The highest of Costa Rica’s mountains is the “Cerro Chirripo”, which stands at an impressive 3,820 metres, and this brings us to what makes Costa Rica so special.
The combination of tropical rainforest, endless, deserted beaches and alpine highlands. All of this on a small area of just 51,100 km² (Germany, by comparison, is approximately 360,000 km²). Because of these converging factors, Costa Rica is considered one of the most biodiverse countries on Earth.
When travelling to Costa Rica, you should not assume that you will manage with just a little beachwear, because even if you travel during a period when the thermometer consistently shows 26 degrees, the perceived temperature can vary considerably. Sometimes it feels like 36 degrees, sometimes like 16 degrees.
The cause is the wind, which blows particularly strongly in the higher regions of the country. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica is where the weather is most unpredictable.
The largest Spanish-speaking country in the world captivates with a rich history and a wealth of sights. From ancient Mayan ruins and impressive colonial-era buildings to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, this country has much to feast your eyes on.
LUXURY TRAVEL MEXICO
The Country’s Smallest National Park
Manuel Antonio may be the smallest but arguably the most beautiful national park in the country, and it should definitely be included in any round trip itinerary.
If you book a guide, you will see and discover animal species that you have never seen before in your life, and that you would certainly not have spotted on your own.
An hour before the park closes, we recommend walking a short way along one of the smaller trails to capture the feeling of being completely alone in this jungle, with only the sounds of the park around you — a truly extraordinary sensation.
The Rio Celeste
When you set off on a hike through the “Torino Volcano” National Park, you must make your way to the source of the Rio Celeste. Its colour is an almost surreal blue, winding through the dense rainforest.
A hike here is something special for everyone, as it takes approximately two hours. Do not forget to wear sturdy footwear, as it can get quite muddy during the rainy season. If you prefer something more challenging, you can hike up to the crater lake of Cerro Chato.
The Arenal Volcano National Park is not only known for its volcano and rainforest, but also for its enormous reservoir. Here you can go kayaking or take an excursion on a SUP board.
Absolute Tranquillity
The “Los Santos” zone in Costa Rica is perfect for travellers who simply want to switch off and find complete peace. There is no electricity and internet access only in very few spots. Here you can truly “go offline” and enjoy pure nature. The views of the coastline are truly magnificent and there are excellent hiking trails where you can discover the flora and fauna in all their beauty.
The Crocodile Bridge
You should definitely make a stop on the bridge over the Rio Grande de Tarcoles. A large group of crocodiles lives here, calling a sandbank directly beneath the bridge their home. When the macaws fly past the enormous crocodiles, it creates a truly unforgettable sight.
The Enchanting Town
Ciudad Colon lies in the heart of the Central Valley, just outside the gates of Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose. Here you can still experience the typical Costa Rican flair. Very historic buildings, town parks and a wealth of traditional restaurants await you.
Ballena National Marine Park
When making your way to the Osa Peninsula, you will pass the “Ballena National Marine Park”. Here you can observe whales and dolphins along an approximately 14-kilometre stretch of coastline. This is possible primarily between December and April, as well as between August and November. The park is characterised by countless mangrove forests, pristine golden sandy beaches and extraordinary rock formations. For snorkelling enthusiasts, the park also offers coral reefs and smaller islands just off the coast.
Corcovado National Park
This national park is located on the Osa Peninsula. It is home to 13 ecosystems and therefore an astonishing variety of wildlife. From monkeys, various bird species and tapirs to several big cats, sharks and crocodiles, you can admire a colourful diversity of species here. The national park must be reached on foot, as neither boats nor aircraft are permitted to dock or land there.
As you can see, Costa Rica has an extraordinary wealth of nature to offer and will set your explorer’s heart racing. But where to begin? Which national park is the best for you? Which hotel and accommodation should you book? Not to worry — we will answer all your questions and book your trip to Costa Rica to the highest standard of perfection! We look forward to it!
