Luxury Travel North Sea

With its varied landscape of beaches, dunes, coastline, mudflats, heathland, moor and forest, the coast at the northern tip of Germany offers far more than just a beach holiday.

Many wonderful holiday homes, holiday apartments and hotels can be found not only on the mainland in Cuxhaven, Norddeich or St. Peter-Ording. The islands of Sylt, Norderney and Borkum are particularly popular among North Sea holidaymakers.

Seaside resorts and numerous opportunities for sport, nature and culture ensure that you will never be bored on the North Sea coast. On the numerous islands and Halligen, you can enjoy relaxed walks and experience hikes through the Wadden Sea.

Alternatively, you can cycle at a leisurely pace from one small North Sea village to the next, exploring the landscapes of Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein along the way.

Sights

The Halligen
A Hallig is a special type of island in the North Sea. Halligen rise only a few metres above sea level and are frequently flooded. Such floods are called “Landunter” (land under water). Houses on the Halligen are built on mounds called Warften. These mounds were created by humans. Despite the flooding, houses and residents remain dry, as the Warften function like dykes and hold back the water. Experiencing a storm surge on a Hallig is a truly special experience that every North Sea enthusiast should have at least once.

(Highlights) Reasons to Travel
The sometimes strong, reliable wind attracts sailors and surfers to the North Sea during the summer months, who take advantage of these consistent conditions for kitesurfing and other sports. Various locations along the German North Sea coast host highly renowned surfing and kitesurfing competitions each year.

Within Germany, the North Sea is also the ideal holiday destination for anyone who values comfort and relaxation. The natural surroundings and the sea make the North Sea a truly special holiday experience for the entire family.
